UFO finish for June

My UFO #12 for Judy's UFO challenge. Two small 9 patch quilts. The nine patches were swapped in an online 2004 swap hosted by Elaine MO with members of AAQMB. New samples for workshops on borders and FMQ.
I also use them for machine covers.
I used a batik sea horse print on the back to do the machine free motion quilting design.

If Judy''s blog is up and running again, I'll have a link to The Patchwork Place on the 1st of July to see what other quilters finished for their June UFO for the 2012 UFO Challenge
Judy's site is kind of working. After checking for the new post on the UFO Challenge page I finally got it today altho it was posted on June 30th.??? I was able to link my post but now I can't get back on it to link it back to my blog :0( Oh well...
It's quilt #3 for July. A Dresden Plate quilt I started last year after taking a class from Analee Belden.

Quilt by Kathy

Following are pictures of a quilt made by Kathy W. I had the pleasure of having her in one of my classes, a Carpenter's Star Class I teach at Cathy's Sew and Vac/Honey Run Quilters with a pattern by Kathie Holland. First Kathy W did an amazing job of piecing. A natural. She took all of the classes including my FMQ class and check out her quilting!

She quilted her quilt on her home machine using both free motion and her walking foot. I am so impressed by her talent. This is what she emailed when she sent her photos.
Just wanted to let you know I finished my quilt! I still have some work to do on perfecting my free motion technique but for the most part I'm very happy with it, especially since before your class I had never even heard of free motion quilting!!  Now on to the next project!! Thanks again for the great class and all your encouragement.

What a complement !!! The reason for teaching and so rewarding. Win win :0) Next month Kathy is planning a trip to Sisters. She will have fun getting inspired there! I'm just as excited as she is :0)

New Juki

Very happy with a new sewing machine. Juki TL-2010Q bought a few weeks ago at Cathy's Sew and Vac. Love using it for FMQing. LOVE the 1/4 inch echo foot!

My new baby
Great workhorse machine. The stitches and tension are wonderful. Fast. Love the multiple speeds from turtle to rabbit! Needle up/down and the thread cutter. Tho I have to get used to using the pedal cutter option. On my Bernina it's the needle up/down so I keep cutting the thread when I'm not ready. Ordered a Supreme Slider for it today plus needles and bobbins for the Gammill.

With much lower prices, purchased a new lap top. This is my first blog post on it. Did not finish a UFO for the month. My honey spent 3 weeks fishing and visiting friends and family in Texas so I also had extra chores around the house, the garden plus mowing the lawns. Yuck! Would much rather be quilting! Sure am glad Michael is back home safe and sound :0)
