Pam and Beckie

Quilts picked up this week... this one for Pam that she made for Carmen... Congrats on graduation!
98 x 98 it's a good sized quilt! Quilted with an edge to edge by Designs by Deb called Tropical Garden. This is a good detail of the design and the Toucan on the back...
Great fabrics...love this fabric from Tula Pink

lots of batiks and fabrics from Australia. Quite the eclectic mix! Carmen picked out the fabrics, great choices and colors. We used a Variegated Trilobal Poly that ranged from Purple to Gold. Wish you could see how the gold in the thread pops, it's great with batiks!

Here are some close ups of Beckie's quilt delivered to her Monday when we meet for lunch :0)

I had fun playing with this one, FMQ on the pre-printed panel and added a corner and border design called Deep Blue Sea. Really cute fabric called Under the Sea Adventures. Thank you Beckie :0)

Lots to do for ASQG quilt show coming up in Chico next month as in September as in it's September next week!  Hard to believe that tomorrow begins Labor Day weekend! Where did summer go?

Kathy W, Sandy and more added!

Kathy picked up her Bento Box quilt yesterday...
Quilted with large swirls in a variegated teal thread.
Kathy will add a teal binding to her quilt.
I met her SIL Peggy, a quilter from Bakersfield, CA. The two of them plus another family member made a wedding quilt together earlier this year that I had the pleasure of quilting. I was happy to hear that Peggy is thinking of moving to this area!

Sandy K picked up the baby quilt she made...
with the cutest mix of fabrics!
Quilted with an all over of butterflies in a soft teal thread

Sally Jo Smith picked up her Kim McLean applique quilt. I have pics but I am not going to share them right now as this quilt will be in ASQG quilt show next month. I'll be posting pics from the show. There are allot of really amazing quilters here in the Chico area!

Pam is picking up her quilt for Carmen today. I'll take some pics and post again later today. Let's see, oh, there are two more quilts almost ready. One for Beckie, a cute custom baby quilt and one for JoAnn. Yep, more pics ...
Hopefully along with some progress on my UFOs for August posted on my blog

UPDATE with new pics!
Pam's quilt...
JoAnn's quilt...
And a pre-print panel Beckie added borders to and I got to play!
More on these quilts later. I have dinner to finish preparing. Making an eggplant dish with veggies from our garden. Then back to UFOs. Added borders to my June Jelly Roll and it's ready to quilt.
Pics posted on my blog, Ramblin' Rows.

Have a great weekend, enjoy the day stitching away!

Quilts for Claudia

Claudia picked up her quilts this morning. I showed two of them in progress last week while they were still on my longarm. This week I finished quilting the third quilt, trimmed all three and took some photos...
This is my favorite. Made with French General, I love these fabrics!
I can see why Sue ~ Cozy Little Quilts loves them too
The center is quilted with a panto from Designs by Deb
I added feather swags in the outer border and feather flowers in the corners
This is Claudia's quilt for Marmee. Made of 19th century repros in pink and brown
Quilted with a panto by Kim Diamond called Williamsburg...
This is the back which shows the quilting a little better...
All three quilts are quilted with a wool batting from Quilter's Dream.
I love the loft and it's the only batting Claudia uses now.
It is a challenge to quilt on as it wants to move but it is so worth it!
Claudia has quite the range in style as this quilt is modern...
Named Tweet, the prints have birds, chairs and sofas mixed with prints of ovals
I took a quilting design by Kim Diamond called Bubbles Everywhere and elongated the design until the round circles became ovals and it worked out great!
This is Claudia's pieced back...
l
Thank you Claudia :0) It is a pleasure quilting your quilts.
Pieced well, always flat and square tops
The reason I LOVE my job!!!

August quilts

Progress on customer quilts...
Two more for Sandra E, Horses quilted with Lassos...
Stars and Stripes quilted on this patriotic quilt
 Love Sandra's applique hearts
This is her backing pieced with extra blocks, the background fabric is called American Pie!
Sandra brought in two more when she picked these up :0)

A modern quilt for Claudia quilted with oval swirls...
A traditional one in 19th Century colors, also for Claudia...
Quilted with a new pattern called Williamsburg by Kim Diamond
Claudia has a third one that is still on the longarm. I'll show better pics next week once they are trimmed and I get photos of whole quilts.

This is a quilt top made and quilted for JoAnn with binding added that she will hand stitch. Lots of nine patches in the borders! JoAnn brought 2 more quilts for quilting yesterday :0)

A custom quilt with applique for Linda
and a second quilt for Linda with owls. Sew cute!
She will add eyes now that it's quilted

Beckie brought in another when she picked up her quilts from last week. Theresa, Marna and Heidi finished two quilts that will be quilted for the shop, Honey Run Quilters. And a new customer brought in a quilt today.
More quilts came in than went out. Actually, there are two more I quilted this week that are not trimmed or photos taken, so the count may be even? I've lost count!
Good thing it's Friday afternoon and time to wrap up the week.

Have a wonderful weekend. I will be working on my August UFO's and finishing the quilting on my Medallion quilt (Click to see) using the new table. Yea!
Thank you to all of my wonderful customers and thank you for stopping by for a visit :0)

Beckie

 Quilts by Beckie
This one she made for one of the kiddos
with sea turtles... too cute!!!
The quilting really shows up on the Minkee back.
The quilting pattern is called Deep Blue Sea by Kim Diamond
 We all loved this one!
This quilt Beckie made for her in the colors she loves, it's custom quilted...
I did free motion quilting in the center and the square flower blocks highlighting
the flowers, leaves and then did a fill followed the swirl background
In the teal radiance rectangle blocks I used a border motif and then flipped it for a mirror image.
The quilting on both quilts are done in a teal variegated cotton thread by YLI called Sea Mist.
Batting in both are wool which has a wonderful loft.
Two different border designs in the border columns and outer border and a cornerstone design in the square teal radiance blocks. Purple sashings are all SID and some 1/4 inch along the print borders.
I love quilting for Beckie and Donna. They let me play!

Over the weekend I started quilting my Medallion SAL done with Lori and Randy. Pics are posted on my quilting blog ~ Ramblin' Rows
Thanks for stopping by... Enjoy the day stitching away

July wrap up

August already! I am making progress with only two quilts yet to wrap up from July. July started out with ten from May & June. There is light at the end of the tunnel!!! In my defense I had two very large quilts, one of which is finished as of Friday...
King size at 116 x 116 this was the limit for my 12 foot frame! Quilted for Carroll with a quilting design she choose Celestial Complex by Kim Diamond. I had to order a new square version as there was absolutely no room to quilt off the edges.
A beautiful quilt made by Carroll's daughter in purple celestial prints, log cabin blocks surrounded by multiple borders. Quilted in a purple Glide thread, the quilting design really fit the fabrics.

Added note: When Carroll picked up her quilt she told me this is only the 4th quilt her daughter has made. She did an incredibly good job considering the size and all of the borders she added! I am impressed :0)
Binding added in the same print as the backing. The quilting is best seen on the back.

The second picture is closer to the true color of the backing fabric. Great design and fabric choices!

Hot August Nights quilt was finished for Sandra. It will be in our quilt show so I will post a picture in September of it hanging in the show.

One more Quilt of Honor completed and back to it's maker for binding...

More on these in September. I also basted two quilts on the longarm for customers, one for Sally that she will hand quilt and one for Arlene to be machine quilted. Worked on two more custom quilts in progress, one is for Beckie and an applique for Sally, both are just gorgeous! One is for the quilt show in September as well.

I have a few of my own quilts in the works, starting the quilting on my Medallion this weekend. Also posted a UFO and NewFO and a WIP for my personal quilting goals for August. Check them out on my quilting blog... Ramblin' Rows. Some are for the show ie) Annie's Star Quilt Guild's Harvest of Quilts September 28 & 29. Have a great weekend...

Enjoy the day stitching away!
