October Quilting for the Kids

Just have to start off pix with a Halloween quilt
made by Donna L with a second in the works
 Quilted with Scull and Crossbones

Another really cute quilt for the kids,
this one is made by Francis P
 and very fun to quilt!
with hand guided FMQing in the center playing with the print.
The borders were quilted with 2 different designs
Deep Blue Sea border and corner set quilted in the outer border
and Bubbles Everywhere in the inner border
Both are designs from Sweet Dreams Studio
Close up of the center panel...
Very similar to one I quilted for Beckie last summer

A baby quilt also made by Donna L
Cute fabrics with all sorts of ideas for quilting designs
Airplanes, ships, clouds, a fun quilt for a baby boy
Donna liked the Hot Air Balloons so I found this cute Hot Air Balloon pattern
The quilting shows so well on the minkee backing Donna picked out!

It would have been fun on Betty's quilt as well
altho, the clouds were just as cute!
and Betty's backing had plenty of hot air balloons!
Well done! Thank you ladies
I enjoyed quilting these cuties!

Three for Claudia

Making good progress in October, however, more quilting getting done than posting pix and blogging. Quilted earlier this month and one completed in September, these 3 quilt project/tops were all made by Claudia V, one of my favorite customers :0)
A Christmas table runner
Beautifully pieced and I love Claudia's color and fabric selections!
A few close ups...
...love Claudia's folded inner border/piping detail
Quilted with Holly and Berries in the center
with a Holly and Berries border and corner set in the outer border.

Love this second quilt top Claudia made with it's soft colors

I was able to repeat this Curls and Swirls block pattern
into an e2e which lined up in each block and cornerstone.
Did I mention that I LOVE quilting Claudia's quilts!
Her piecing is spot on :0)

The backing is a great match for the quilting design!
Sew nice when it comes together like this beauty

Claudia's third quilt... beautifully pieced as well!
 A Double Churn Dash
Love this block and below is the backing
Quilting design is Williamsburg e2e

Thank you Claudia!

Very happy with the rain we received early this morning. The sun is peaking out now with the promise of a cool and windy autumn day! Nice! The cooler temps have been very helpful in getting lots of quilting completed. More pix to come as October wraps up including some Halloween quilts. Love the Fall!!! Even my Innova is decked out and ready for Halloween :0)
  Enjoy your weekend! Groetjes, Jo

Asian Salsa for Kelly

Kelly's Asian Salsa spent a week up on my design wall for inspiration and ideas. Here it is back up on my wall with the quilting finished ~ Yea! I had fun with Kelly's quilt. Lots of stitching to add texture and add to it's aboriginal organic feel. Here are some close ups...
I used two different Fantastico variegated threads, one for the borders in golds to browns and a different one in the center field that had all sorts of color including a teal that popped along with the teal colors in the fabrics.
Lots of texture, I was going for an earthy look with layers of stitching surrounding pockets of pebbles. The border stitching is a leaf design similar to the leaf print of the fabric.
 The center...
Hidden in all of the stitching is the face of a wild cat. Hard to see even in real life let alone in these pix but it's there, if only in my mind! Fabrics were all dark to medium values plus a low loft batting makes the quilting the background and texture, which is what we were going for. Kelly's curved piecing wins the prize for this quilt! Yep, all pieced in, no applique! The piecing was perfect on this baby!

Well done Kelly!!!
A few more lying on my work table
where you can see a little more of the texture of the stitching

 Thank you Kelly

Enjoy your week and thank you for stopping by, Jo

HRQ @ PIQF

Sandy, Kathy and Grace sent pix from their phones yesterday at Pacific International Quilt Festival. Here are a few, the first of Honey Run Quilter's booth on Friday. Theresa always changes out the quilts on display each day of the festival for interest. Can't help but notice that giant Churn Dash!

Theresa's Star quilt is perfect as a table cover topped with Fabric

I believe this one is quilted by Esther

 Hi Ronda!

and below is a pic of Grace with one of her quilts
 juried into the show...
Well done ladies!
Thank you for sharing your day

Enjoy your weekend!
Take the time to take some stitches

PIQF 2014

Pacific International Quilt Festival starts today! If you plan to attend, be sure to stop by Honey Run Quilter's booth and check out the quilt samples that Esther (Threads on the Floor), Kathy and I longarmed. I would love to go! Kathy is going tomorrow and promised to take pix for us! Also, stop by and say Hi to Jim and Nicky Davis at the Sew So Shop/Innova booth. Too many things going on this week and weekend for me to attend this year.

Just for fun... these are the samples quilted by Jo @ Moonbear Designs for Honey Run Quilters. This first one is the one I recently blogged about that I haven't posted pix of yet, a Christmas quilt made by Ronda and the staff at Honey Run...
some close ups...

This last one is the back.
Quilting design is called Points and Berries
perfect for these prints!
Well done Ronda, Ann, Lorraine, Melony and everyone
at Honey Run Quilters that worked on this one
More pix, these have been previously posted here
Hoping you will have the opportunity to see them in RL at PIQF
Following are quilts made by Theresa Wright...
quilted by Jo at Moonbear Designs and Quilting

This last one is a whole cloth coverlet that Theresa made for her new home. It may have made it's way to the festival, I'm not sure. Got busy this week getting four quilts finished for a new customer from Arizona, visiting here in Chico with the goal of taking her quilts back with her at the end of this week. Almost done!

Have a wonderful week/end
Take the time to take a few stitches!
