Anchors Aweigh!

Anchors Aweigh made by Judy T
Love this quilt (too)! The best part of longarm quilting is working on so many wonderful quilts. I love the diversity and style of each quilter.
Judy is pretty new to quilting and I love where she is going with it!
Her quilt is big! (sideways for the pic)
Visit Judy's Pinterest Board to see more of her quilts :0)
Check out her basket weave quilt, it's amazing!
Anchors Aweigh on my longarm as I started the quilting design ~ Deep Blue Sea.
Quilted with a soft green/teal thread. Perfect choices for this quilt :0)
Well done Judy!
Close up of the quilting

Judy also joined our guild. I was very happy to see her at our last meeting!
Marsh Haunschild, owner of Morning Star Quilt shop was our guest speaker at November's meeting.
December's meeting will have Cindy Needham as our guest speaker :0) We are looking forward to it. If you are in the area, come and join us!

Love this quilt!

This quilt top is made by Janet M. It's gorgeous and perfect with the Fall colors :0)
Janet made this for her daughter. Love the design and layout, Janet made it with a charm pack.
I would love to make this quilt!

This beauty is machine quilted with an e2e, Dragonflies from Sweet Dreams Studio

Pretty Fall colors along with the leaves in our backyard.
Sadly, after this weeks winds, they are all on the ground now

This quilt is made by Sandra E. Another Goldie Girl :0)
Sandra made many quilts this year and I have been amazed by her creativity with each one of them and this one is no exception... this is the back!
this surfboard is pieced and pieced into the backing fabric. Wow!
Here is a close up of the fabrics and the surfboard that was her inspiration...

Oh yea, the quilting is a flower block design by Anne Bright that I repeated over the whole quilt.
Wonderful quilt Sandra. Hope you are feeling better.
I have one more finished for Sandra as well as one for Phoebe. Love those Goldie Girls!
This is Sandra's still on my longarm (above)
and this is Phoebe's Fly Fishing quilt, which is the machine quilting design :0)

Did you know that November is Longarm month (according to The Quilt Life)
I am celebrating in a big way that I will share soon!

Enjoy your day, stitching away!

Quilts of Honor for Veterans Day

This beautiful quilt was made by volunteers and quilted by Gail Belmont.
This is Gail on the left. She is a longarm quilter that quilts many of the tops donated to the Quilts of Honor program. She came to our guild meeting in September and presented quilts (made by members of our guild) to local Veterans. More about that evening is posted here on my blog
The Color Guard starting off the evening
Quilts of Honor is an amazing program that honors all Veterans that have served

**Thank you to all that have served and are serving today**

Pinterest and blog image change

Over the weekend I got lost in Pinterest!  Oh my, the amount of eye candy! I set up a Pinterest account for my longarm quilting business. In the process choose a logo for my board and decided to use the same image for my blog. My Tree of Life project 'in progress' (ignore the pins). Hmmmm, pins. I suppose that fits right in on Pinterest... it's early and another busy week :0)

Enjoy your day, stitching away!

A special quilt

for a special lady. Shirley H turned 92 years young last month. She also finished this quilt!
and asked me to quilt it for her. Here is her top first loaded on my longarm...
Old school layout with the pillow top and kick pleat corners!

She asked for an all over but I just could not do that with this quilt. Especially when she told me that this would be her last quilt made and for her room! I quilted a feather design in the stars and flowers on the sides and alternate blocks, which she did request. Sides are a Pansy design that will hang along the sides of her bed.
Meet Shirley in her room with her quilt.
Perfect colors that she put together to bring in her headboard, cupboard and she loves purple!

BTW, that cupboard is filled with quilts she and her mother-in-law made. Gorgeous quilts, many hand quilted. I saw them the first time I visited with Shirley when I picked up her quilt but did not have my camera. This day we were both too rushed for time. This lady has a busy schedule! Next visit :0)

Thanks for stopping by. Enjoy your day, stitching away!
