Quilts for Linda and Kathy

A quilt made last year by Linda D
made in Kelly K's workshop/BOM at Honeyrun Quilters and Cathy's

A large quilt made with blocks of all sizes!
Called Modern Building Blocks
Kelly does several great classes at HRQ including Ripple and most recently Snack Time

Quilted with a design from Anne Bright ~ Rapunzel
Which IMHO worked well with the Kaffe prints
Batting is Quilter's Dream Machine Blend
Thread is Fantastico, a variegated thread from Superior Threads
Thank you Linda!

Kathy W made this beauty...

Quilted with Curls and Swirls, a block design that can be set up at an e2e
and lined up with blocks of the quilt
creating a 'custom e2e' in the center field.
The borders are quilted with two border designs
The inner border is a swirl design by Jessica at Digi-tech
and the outer border is part of the Curls and Swirls set.

I didn't get a good pic of the outer border. Kathy drew lines for a
scalloped border and the quilting design followed her lines.
With winter and lots of rain, taking pix outdoors has not been an option :0(
Thank you Kathy!

Modern Clamshell for Kathy's quilt

This pieced beauty is made by Kathy W

Quilted with a Modern Clamshell design by Jessica Schick
The design is flipped for the second row
and then lined up for a mirror image to create this stitched design.

Stitched with a grey/brown Omni thread
Batting is Warm and Natural

The piecing is done very well making a beautifully square and flat quilt.
Thank you Kathy

Enjoy your week

Wedding Quilts, for Leslie and Kathy

Two more wedding quilts finished. This one is made by Leslie D
Love these fabrics! Reminds me of French General Cali girl Sue :0)
Also of Claudia, two of my wonderful customers
btw, I noticed Sue is working on a quilt similar to one that Claudia had me quilt for her
made in MidWinters Red fabrics. Great minds (and quilters) think alike!
This fabric is wonderful! The backing
fabrics with a light background are too
Leslie often pieces extra blocks and fabric in her backing

Quilted on my Innova with a panto called Williamsburg

A second wedding quilt...
I love my job because I get to see and play with so many different quilts!
This is a wedding quilt made by Kathy for a family member...
Quilted with a border pattern in the pieced rows...
and following the print, hand guided on the Innova.
It's quilted with two different Glide threads in gold.
These pix do not do it justice, this one is best in RL to appreciate
the sparkle in the thread as well as the blue and gold fabric Kathy chose.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend.
Take some stitches, I plan to do just that
and spend some time working on my projects.

Kathy W, Sandy and more added!

Kathy picked up her Bento Box quilt yesterday...
Quilted with large swirls in a variegated teal thread.
Kathy will add a teal binding to her quilt.
I met her SIL Peggy, a quilter from Bakersfield, CA. The two of them plus another family member made a wedding quilt together earlier this year that I had the pleasure of quilting. I was happy to hear that Peggy is thinking of moving to this area!

Sandy K picked up the baby quilt she made...
with the cutest mix of fabrics!
Quilted with an all over of butterflies in a soft teal thread

Sally Jo Smith picked up her Kim McLean applique quilt. I have pics but I am not going to share them right now as this quilt will be in ASQG quilt show next month. I'll be posting pics from the show. There are allot of really amazing quilters here in the Chico area!

Pam is picking up her quilt for Carmen today. I'll take some pics and post again later today. Let's see, oh, there are two more quilts almost ready. One for Beckie, a cute custom baby quilt and one for JoAnn. Yep, more pics ...
Hopefully along with some progress on my UFOs for August posted on my blog

UPDATE with new pics!
Pam's quilt...
JoAnn's quilt...
And a pre-print panel Beckie added borders to and I got to play!
More on these quilts later. I have dinner to finish preparing. Making an eggplant dish with veggies from our garden. Then back to UFOs. Added borders to my June Jelly Roll and it's ready to quilt.
Pics posted on my blog, Ramblin' Rows.

Have a great weekend, enjoy the day stitching away!

Quilt by Kathy

Following are pictures of a quilt made by Kathy W. I had the pleasure of having her in one of my classes, a Carpenter's Star Class I teach at Cathy's Sew and Vac/Honey Run Quilters with a pattern by Kathie Holland. First Kathy W did an amazing job of piecing. A natural. She took all of the classes including my FMQ class and check out her quilting!

She quilted her quilt on her home machine using both free motion and her walking foot. I am so impressed by her talent. This is what she emailed when she sent her photos.
Just wanted to let you know I finished my quilt! I still have some work to do on perfecting my free motion technique but for the most part I'm very happy with it, especially since before your class I had never even heard of free motion quilting!!  Now on to the next project!! Thanks again for the great class and all your encouragement.

What a complement !!! The reason for teaching and so rewarding. Win win :0) Next month Kathy is planning a trip to Sisters. She will have fun getting inspired there! I'm just as excited as she is :0)
