Best of Show went to Barbara Michels' quilt!
(Note: This Best of Show is only within the judged group of quilts,
not everyone submits quilts for judging.)
Barbara does her own quilting and quilts for others as well.
Her work is amazing!!!
Of course, the machine quilting is always what I am drawn to first :0)
This is another quilt made and quilted by Barbara that won a First Place ribbon
in a different category...
love the way she worked the piano key border into the leaf edge!

I love the variety of stitches. The background pattern behind the large leaf is great. The block with the ginkgo leaves has pebbling that starts out small in the center and gets bigger as is works out to the edge of the block and in the second photo below...
love the way she worked the piano key border into the leaf edge!
Plus blocks with bugs added with stitching
Very creative!!!
There was one more whole cloth quilt quilted by Barbara that I am not finding on my photo card. Will have to check with Brandie to see if she got it. Here are two more quilts that were made by members of the guild that Barbara Michels quilted:

Beautifully quilted!
There are lots more to post!
The plan is to post everyday over the next week or so, each day featuring one of my customer's quilts. Many have not been posted on the blog, waiting until after the show.
More best of...
These are the Viewer's choice awards, voted on by the attendees to the show.
This is Sally Jo's quilt, our applique extraordinaire!
that received 1st place for the Viewer's Choice Award
(note: Sally Jo chose not to enter this quilt into the judging
Beckie Canterbury's Birds is the 2nd Viewer's Choice
3rd Viewer's Choice went to a second quilt made by Sally Jo
but it was already taken down before I got a chance to take a photo.
It was cold, dark and raining by the time everyone was ready to call it a day :0(
Funny how much faster it comes down than up!
Tot ziens, Jo
