Goldie and the Girls

Sandy and Phoebe picked up Sandy's Bargello quilt this afternoon

The inner border or stop border is silk! Nice addition

Quilting design is Quill b2b in the center field with the Quill border/corner set
in the outer border. Quilted with Fantastico from Superior
Batting is Quilter's Dream 100% cotton in Deluxe, a new bat from QD
Much better alternative to W&N !!! No stems and seeds :0)

 Beautiful batik backing
Thank you Sandy, for the card too.
Michael loved it, we both did!

 Phoebe's VERY scrappy quilt!
As scrappy as it gets! Well done by our Scrappy Queen :0)

Even has a little bit of Halloween!

The friendship star with sashing is the primary block
and a Churn Dash emerged
where we choose to center the quilting pattern on and frame the stars
creating a custom e2e!

Quilting design is Twirl Pantograph by Keryn Emmerson
Quilted with Omni V, a wonderful new variegated thread from Superior.
Batting is QD Cotton Deluxe
Thank you Phoebe

and last but not least are 2 quilts for Goldie...
Pretty in Pink! Log cabins with a great Paisley border fabric
I choose a new paisley pattern from Anne Bright...
Paisley Loops
Goldie provided the batting, QD Polly Puff
It's a great 100% poly, great for a baby quilt
and it quilts and looks just like wool.

More pink plus the paisley fabric on the back... nice!

It's a toss up between Goldie and Phoebe for the Scrap Queen Crown!
Altho Sandy can hold her own as well!
This one by Goldie is great... with some really little squares!!!
All 1930s repros...
I choose a quilt design to compliment many of the traditional daisy prints.
April Flowers by Anne Bright

and a very sweet flannel backing fabric for this baby quilt

Thank you Goldie, Sandy and Phoebe!!!
aka The Goldie Girls ;0)

Kelly's Houses

The Red Door made by Kelly K
Pattern is by Bella Nonna Design Studio

Kelly used Shibori fabrics by Anthology, available at Honey Run Quilters
with a graphite for the background

Quilted with a black to grey Fantastico thread from Superior Threads
Batting is a new 100% cotton batting from Quilter's Dream
Deluxe which has a little more loft compared to Select
It's soft with a nice drape and great to quilt on!
A really good alternative to Warm and Natural!!! I like it allot!

The design we choose for quilting is Woodland Path
by Apricot Moon. A great design for texture
Love how the light greys in the variegated thread sparkle on the background.
Good choices all around :0) Thank you Kelly!

Enjoy your Sunday

Tina's Bargello

Bargello made by Tina

Great batiks and color choices. Quilted with Fantastico variegated thread in teals by Superior Threads. Batting is Quilter's Dream Wool.

Quilting design is New Wave

and it's reversible! This is the back of the quilt pieced from the scraps from the top...

Isn't it great!?!

Gorgeous quilt Tina! Thank you :0)

I took a pic of the backing loaded on the longarm, it felt so weird!

Even Micheal walked in my studio and questioned what I was doing loading a quilt top first! See, he does pay attention! That's my guy :0)

Having the best weekend at Goldie's Good Times Weekend. An entire weekend of quilting with a classroom full of quilters at Honey Run Quilters at Cathy's Sew & Vac. Most of us are working on UFOs, today I finished a top I started last year at a Linda Ballard workshop. Yea! Tomorrow is show and tell, pix will be posted on my blog Ramblin' Rose.

Enjoy your weekend,

French Braid Finish

Beckie's French Braid

Finished at 95 x 105, this beauty completely covered my worktable and down the sides! My friend Beckie is making this quilt for her brother and fiance for their upcoming wedding. Wow! A labor of love! Beckie also finished pillow shams and a table runner for them in the same Shimmer fabrics. I saw them at lunch on Monday, gorgeous!

Quilting around the last corner and down the bottom border.

Quilted with Quilter's Dream Wool for that wonderful loft. Also a good choice for batting because it doesn't add allot of weight which is really nice for large quilts. Threads are both from Superior Threads, a Fantastico in a variegated gold for the top and SoFine#50 for the back. Just realized I forgot to take a pic of the backing! It's one of the medium gold fabrics used in the braid, really pretty. Beckie picked up her quilt last night. Kind of sad, letting it go! My frame looks so empty right now!

The variegated Fantastico worked great on the lights
as well as the dark fabrics and blended with the mediums...

adding nice highlights to the gold in the Shimmer fabrics!

Quilting design is a set by Nancy Haacke at Wasatch Quilting.
Well designed and it stitched out perfectly!

Gorgeous quilt Beckie, I would not accomplish this detailed of quilting
without your perfect piecing! Thank you xoxoxoxox

Progress on a French Braid

This week I started quilting a French Braid quilt for Beckie. This quilt is absolutely gorgeous! Beckie did an outstanding job of piecing too. Makes quilting this beauty that much better!

Beckie put together the perfect fabrics starting with a Shimmer pack. She added the lights in the center which make it glow! One batik that pulls together the fabric used for the center blocks and inner borders. Doesn't this motivate you to make a French Braid? It does me!

The first stitching for the top border and corner...

The triangles are quilted plus a start on the vertical borders...

First stitches on one of the braids...

 Progress down the borders and
more on the braids... getting close to the center block

The gold variegated Fantastico thread is working great
on all of the fabrics, even the lights

Batting is Quilter's Dream Wool
Love the loft!

and the quilting in the center block...
Beckie, it is a joy to quilt for you! Thank you

Quilting design is a set by Wasatch Quilting specifically for a French Braid. I did have to morph the blocks in the braid to make them fit Beckie's quilt. Love my Innova! This was the first time I've purchased a design from Wasatch. Very impressed with both the design and how it stitched out. Will consider them again, especially for custom sets. Very nice!

I took pix of completed customer quilts and will post them this weekend. A sneak peak with the one above made by Carol F (more to come). We had some nice sunny weather so I was able to take some good whole quilt shots. A few were picked up this afternoon and evening. A good end to a productive work week. Tomorrow I have plans to attend a quilt show in Auburn, Ca with my friend and fellow longarmer, Judy R. Looking forward to that! Enjoy your weekend! Take the time to make some stitches...

Quilting on Amaretto Cottage

Kansas Troubles block in Amaretto Cottage

and one of the setting triangles

Janie loves butterflies and the sparkle of Glide so we are quilting feathered butterflies on this beauty using three different colors ~ gold, burgundy, a lavender plus a fourth thread, a Fantastico from Superior in a dark variegated purple.
Wool batting from Quilter's Dream for that wonderful loft :0)

At day's end yesterday I am about halfway and ready to start the medallion center. Not planning to share more of this one or any of the quilts quilted for customers that will be going into the quilt show. Come to the show and see them!
(There will be lots of pix after the show)

There was one customer quilt this week not going in the show. Karen made a quilt that will be a Christmas gift. I neglected to ask her permission to post pix. With permission I hope to post pix later because it's a wonderful quilt! I had fun looking at all the different fabrics and blocks while I was quilting it. Every block is different, just what I love to do :0)

After shutting down my longarm yesterday, I made a block for Honey Run Quilters Seasonal Block challenge. Ronda gave me a packet with the oak leaf focus fabric in September, due at the end of this month and now I can check it off my list. Way too much going on this month. 14 Birthdays!!! (I have a biggie coming up soon) all family and close friends, plus customer quilts, guild & quilt show meetings. Too much and I have noticed that I am having trouble staying focused! Doing my best, anyway here is the block I made yesterday. Thinking of cutting up the little scraps to add leaves falling from the tree.

Enjoy your Sunday
Hope you have a fun project to work on!

Saturday Morning Post ~ Kelly, Phoebe and Jill

This is Autumn Daze, a quilt made by Kelly for Honey Run Quilters that will be going to PIQF this October. Posted on a new Facebook page that is still in the works and now here on the blog. Kelly picked up this beauty on Thursday morning.

Made good progress this month with one more quilt on my frame to finish out August. This will be the first month in about a year that there will not be any, not one! quilt on 'the list' carried over to the next month... Yea! It's a great feeling.

Can't get too excited tho, the list is still booked until April of 2016 with September and October full to capacity with quilts that were 'put off' while I was taking care of my Mom. November is our guild's quilt show, lots of quilts to be finished for the show and quilts for the holidays. Busy, busy, busy!

Ever so grateful for so many wonderful quilters
that entrust their quilts to my care and quilting.
Thank you!

back to Kelly's quilt ...
Love those little fussy cut cornerstones and the care taken for the layout
Great backing, all the fabrics are, of course, available at Honey Run Quilters :0)

 Quilting design is called Solar
using two colors of Omni thread from Superior Threads.
Vanilla Wafer for the top and Hazelnut on the backing.
Even the thread names say Autumn!
Thank you Kelly

A few more finishes... two for Phoebe
Phoebe is one of the Scrappy Queens from Goldie's Scrap Happy Days :0)

who must be pulling from her purple, teal and blue baskets to make both of these quilts!

Snowball Nine Patch which was fun to set up a repeated e2e in the blocks
One of my favorite options and layouts to set up these daze.
Creates a custom look at an e2e price :0) Win! Win!

Both quilts were quilted with Fantastico variegated threads
this one backed with an Omni thread in Blue Turquoise

Close up of Phoebe's first one... quilted with Rapunzel e2e
Definitely a fun design and a favorite
Thank you Phoebe!

Also finished and picked up this week are quilts for Betty posted here
and Cool Beans quilted for Claudia posted here

Plus one for Jill whom I haven't quilted for in exactly a year this month.
A Baseball Baby quilt made with great baseball fabrics and a panel
Quilted with Star Bright using a Fantastico variegated thread in red, white and blue.
It worked!
and the perfect backing fabric!
Nice! Glad to see Jill is back to quilting. Jill's home was flooded when we actually had one big rain storm last year that flooded Los Molinos. She lost allot of fabric along with a king size quilt she was working on. After a summer of repairs and replacements for their home, she is happily back at her machine! In fact, she took up half of February on the list!
Thank you Jill!
Speaking of rain, we have a weird little storm moving thru early this morning with just a little bit of rain, yes, just enough to muddy up the dust on the cars! It's just getting light out and the ground is dry again already. The clouds are keeping the heat in so it's also warm and humid. Chico hit triple digits again this week, hopefully the last for the summer as this system promises to bring some cool temps. Looking forward to that and the coming of Autumn, my favorite season! Yea!!!
Enjoy your weekend
Make some time to take some stitches!
