Kathryn's Labyrinth quilt

Wow, 10 days since my last post! Time flies when you are having fun quilting ;0) With a new month starting just as I got back from Sandy, Utah many quilts came in since the 6th, following the holiday weekend. Several are quilted and ready to be trimmed. Have allot of pix and posting to catch up on as all my time has been spent quilting.

Loving all the little tricks and details I learned from Renae at Quilts On the Corner. It's made my experience with my longarm sew much better and I am getting lots of customer quilts completed!

Kathryn's Labyrinth is the first quilt I finished as soon as I got back to work in the studio. Already delivered, Kathryn was very happy with the outcome and I hear that Ryan loved it as well! Yea!

This is the center of Kathryn's quilt... it's big :0)

Sorry about the out of focus pix, I am using a borrowed camera and didn't notice that the settings were changed until after the quilt was picked up :0(

The quilt laying across my frame after quilting...

Quilted with a design named Peacock Feathers
using a variegated thread from Superior that went from green to dark teal.
Batting is Quilter's Dream Wool... love that loft!

The quilting pattern was chosen to pick up the shapes in the fabrics
mimicking the same texture but using curves to add softness to the hard lines.
For an all over pattern it worked pretty well and was a good option for a big quilt.

I neglected to get a picture of the backing... it was a navy blue solid.
Using that bright green color in a solid thread really popped!

Thank you Kathryn :0)

I'll try and get more pix posted but for now, getting caught up is a priority...
as well as buying a new camera. Sew much to do!
Enjoy your weekend :0)

BTL ~ Back to Longarming!

Back from Boot Camp at Quilts on the Corner. Spent the holiday weekend getting back on track after a week of longarm training. I blogged about my experience on my personal blog Ramblin' Rows... here is a link. If you are a longarmer I highly recommend going to Renae's Boot Camp. It's sew worth it! I learned allot, looking forward to using new ideas, tools and growing with my craft.

Studio closed until Sept. 6th

As planned, I am headed for Sandy Utah tomorrow for a longarm boot camp at Quilts On the Corner. 4 full days of hands on training for my Innova longarm. 3 days of hand guided training, machine maintenance and more, trying out different threads, marking pens/methods, longarm rulers and tools. Day 4 will be all about Mach 3, the new software platform that will replace Auto Pilot.
I am sew excited! Classes are being taught by Renae Haddadin, award winning longarm quilter. Most recently won Best in Show at AQS for her longarm quilting. She is an Innova dealer and owner of Quilts on the Corner which carries thread & longarm tools including Red Snappers, a product Renae developed.

Something I've wanted to do since I bought my Innova however, unable to get away while taking care of Mom. Now, it's time and timing is good because now I don't have to learn the new software on my own!!! Yea. I am a hands on visual learner, so this is a good option for me to learn the new system.

The week is followed by the Labor Day weekend, so... the studio will be closed until Tuesday Sept. 6th. Have many appointments set up for the week I get back. Looking forward to seeing you all then!

Enjoy the week and the upcoming Labor Day weekend
Temps here in the North Valley are predicted to be much cooler this coming week,
hope that holds true for the week I get back!
