Linda's Painted Forest

Linda's Painted Forest

Freshly quilted with Mid-Century by Patricia Ritter available at Digi-Tech
Thread is Superior's SoFine40 in a variegated green
Batting is Quilter's Dream Cotton

Every leaf section is a different fabric with lots of critters too!
Linda's goal was to make it a sort of 'I Spy' for the kids :0)

Fun backing that has pretty much every color and she matched the
pattern in the center seam beautifully! Not an easy task with circles!

Linda made this quilt top in my Painted Forest workshop at Cathy's Honey Run Quilters
Thank you Linda :0) for taking the class and being one of my favorite customers!

Painted Forest is a pattern by Scott Hansen of Blue Nickle Studios
Here are more trees in progress during the first workshop...

Donna's trees in batiks with a dramatic dark background!
Really makes the color pop!!!

Ronda's trees in Kaffe

 Lisa's trees (center)

Grace's trees ~ love the gradient background!
Pam's trees made in Aboriginal fabrics
Pam made 5 trees to be made into a wall hanging

 Karen's trees also in Aboriginal

Lisa's trees in batik with a light background.
Love how the fabrics makes each of these quilts unique!!!
Sew much fun and more to come!

There was a waiting list for the first workshop that filled up right away!
2 new ones are set up for March & April.

Two days and times to choose from...
Saturday workshops ~ March 11, 25 & April 8 ~ 5 pm to 9 pm
Tuesday workshops ~ March 21, April 4 & 18 ~ 10 am to 2 pm

My sample quilt is hanging up inside Honey Run Quilters.
Below is Scott's Painted Forest pictured on his pattern.

Pattern is available at Honey Run Quilters and as always,
20% discount on supplies/fabrics purchased for workshops!

Perfect for your scraps too ;0)
As you can see from the first workshop pics, there are lots of ways to make this quilt fun!
Come join us and plant some trees this Spring!!!

Serendipity in Fall ~ Tina

This beauty is made by Tina B
Pieced pattern is Serendipity by Linda Ballard
Tina pieced this quilt at a workshop with Linda at Honey Run Quilters in Chico

Quilting design is Fall Flurry by Bethanne Nemesh
It's a new design by Bethanne available on Digi-Tech
This center block is what drew me in to choosing this design for Tina's quilt
and then used the same design as a p2p to fill into the inner border
and added a single motif/element to the corner space.

Block design quilted in the center/corner blocks
also shown below with another element added between them
in this photo of the center of the quilt

A leaf in a circle for the sashing with leaves added in the cornerstones
Thread is Omni in Pine Shadow / Batting is Quilter's Dream Machine Blend

This quilt is made with just two fabrics, the Fall leaf batik fabric with a
light green fabric that had gold dots for the background fabric.
My camera is not doing justice to the beautiful color of this quilt!

A border and corner design was added to the outer border
which the camera didn't pick it up on the batik print
Here you can see a portion of the border at the bottom of this photo of the back.
Backing fabric is the same fabric as the background
The photos absolutely do not capture the gorgeous fabrics that make this quilt!!! :0(

Thank you Tina!
It was the perfect time of year and weather for this beauty :0)

Kelly and Ripples

One of Kelly's Ripple quilts

Ripple is one of many quilt patterns by Julie Herman of Jaybird Quilts
This and the one below are two smaller versions Kelly made since her workshop.
Both are quilted with two different Mola designs.
The one above with a custom e2e and the one below with an all over e2e.

Another Ripple quilted for Linda D

This one is set up with a custom e2e using a Celtic Knot design...

Great fabrics including the backing that Linda choose for her Ripple
that she pieced in Kelly's workshop. Sarah has one ready that I will be quilting soon!

Kelly has done several workshops, many from Jaybird Quilts. Toes in the Sand was a BOM we recently finished. I quilted Kelly's mermaid Toes and guess what, forgot to take pix before delivering the quilt last week... I tell you, I'm loosing it! I brought the quilt with me to Kelly's newest workshop... Gravity. Yep, another BOM from Jaybird. Already have some quilting designs in mind for this one as well :0)

A second quilt recently done for Kelly that I did remember to take pix...
is this quilt that went to PIQF with Honey Run Quilters as a sample with Kaffe prints

A modern Dresden with great prints!
Completely machine pieced including the inset circles...
Well done by Kelly a quilter extraordinaire!

Fun quilting design with fun fabrics using Sun Spirit by Kim Diamond
and a border print from Anne Bright. I took the border design and created
a new individual element that I quilted into the center of each of the blocks.
Quilted with Quilter's Dream Wool batting, it gave it a little dimension as well!

Thank you Kelly!

my favorite red thread :0) Batting is Quilters Dream Cotton Deluxe

Mermaids swimming in Seaweed

Pattern is Wonton from our favorite triangle girl
Julie Herman of Jaybird Quilts

Made by Kelly, GREAT fussy cutting!!!

Quilted on my Innova with Seaweed from Anne Bright
The perfect choice for this quilt :0)

 Kelly used a blue background
Batting is Quilter's Dream Wool with a thin layer of cotton
to keep the light fabrics nice and bright
Thread is Apricot Blossom, an Omni from Superior
with Natural White on the back

Seaweed is one of my favorite designs, love how it flows!
Anne did a great job of interlocking the rows, great design

Head on over to Honey Run Quilters to get a real life look.
Kelly is putting on the binding and it will be up as a store sample very soon!

If you like it, you will have to make one of your own
because this quilt has been claimed!

Snack Time and more for Linda

Linda D's quilt made in Kelly's Snack Time workshop at HRQ
Snack Time is a pattern from Jaybird Quilts

Julie has a number of patterns published now and is doing quite well.
A bunch of us quilters have done and are making a few of them
plus purchasing her specialty rulers... LOVE the Hex and More!
"helping fund her retirement" says Barbara (have to agree!) lol
I recently did a Pinterest search and found a pattern I purchased years ago that is from Jaybird called Taffy, so apparently I've been contributing for quite some time!

Great Kaffe fabrics! and the backing is perfect!!!
Well done Linda :0)
Thank you

Quilted with a design called Wild Cherries
Thread is a variegated SoFine40 from Superior
with a Omni thread called Wintergreen for the back.
Batting is a newer 100% cotton from Quilter's Dream
Cotton Deluxe. Love it! Again, really good alternative to W&N
note: it really IS 100% cotton! If you check out the fiber contents of Hobbs Cotton and
Warm & Natural you will find that both of their cotton bats have poly blended in.

I love how Linda combined her fabrics for her version
of Snack Time ~ nicknamed Cheerios!

Linda also made Modern Building Blocks which I quilted earlier this year.
(pictured below) also a workshop with Kelly

Today I finished another Modern Building Blocks for Karen G
and about to start a third one for Debbie D
pix soon
plus one more in the works by Fran

Kelly's workshops @ HRQ are pretty awesome!
So far it's been Modern Building Blocks, Ripple, Snack Time

This is Linda's Ripple quilted with Celtic Knot
set up as a custom e2e in each of the blocks ~ blog post

and we are two blocks into Toes in the Sand.

Rumor has it we may do Gravity next, altho
Sweet Tooth is looking pretty good too!!!

The quilt has already traveled to a show in Redding

Honey Run Quilter's booth set up in Redding this weekend
It will be back in the store soon and then it goes to Sisters
Pam has it posted on her blog as well :0)

btw, if you click on the link for HRQ's Facebook page you will also see
some of the new Kaffe fabrics that Kelly just put up on the shelves.
 30 new bolts!!!

Some close ups of Pam's Cat Lady Quilt...

Quilted with Mid-Century Modern only in the background.
The appliqued cats are outlined plus some 1/4 inch stitching.
I added some wool batting behind the balls of yarn
as well as the cat's embroidered faces for a little dimension.

HRQ had the purrfect fabric that Pam choose for the backing!
Well done!!! Thank you Pam :0)

Studio is open again. Micheal is making great progress each day. Last night I was out at Honey Run for Kelly's Toes in the Sand BOM. Felt really good to get in some girl time working on a quilt project! Back to work on the longarm with some catching up to do because Mach 3 is out and I can't wait to get that loaded onto my system!
