 Even Micheal walked in my studio and questioned what I was doing loading a quilt top first! See, he does pay attention! That's my guy :0) 

Having the best weekend at Goldie's Good Times Weekend. An entire weekend of quilting with a classroom full of quilters at Honey Run Quilters at Cathy's Sew & Vac. Most of us are working on UFOs, today I finished a top I started last year at a Linda Ballard workshop. Yea! Tomorrow is show and tell, pix will be posted on my blog Ramblin' Rose.

It's been awhile since I've frosted one for Goldie. We have another in the works plus a third that I will be picking up this week. Goldie's Stash Buster is coming up this Thursday 10 to 4 in the classroom at Cathy's and Honey Run Quilters. To see more of Goldie's work... Quilted with a new 2015 design by Jessica Schick at Digi-Tech named Ornamental Webs. I love how she sets up her designs as point to points. It makes using the designs so versatile. They can be flipped, mirrored and then linked together to run like an e2e. Once laid out on the computer and lined up with the blocks, it's a great option to give a custom look, especially when coupled with a border design. 

This pic without the flash shows the quilting better. The very first pic with flash is a better example of the true colors. Beautiful Sandy, I love this one! Didn't get a pic with the backing, it's the same fabric at the inner border. Batting is Quilter's Dream Wool. Love the loft! Note: Good that we are getting lots of rain here in Northern California. Not good is that I have not been able to take pix outdoors. That is OK, we will take the much needed rain!

Miniature Quilts

Very happy with my Innova! Helena and I finished a few more samples today ~ miniature quilts, testing out the machine and tension at the same time. These samples will be a good visual for customers to see patterns, designs, threads and battings as well. 

Each sample is quilted on fat quarters or smaller pieces of fabric with each design scaled down on Auto Pilot. It was also nice to try out a few patterns that came on Auto Pilot that I haven't used at the same time adjusting tension. I kept a log of each pattern, tension settings, the type and color of thread and the batting that it was quilted on. Here are some close ups of each design... fyi QD = Quilter's Dream, a brand of batting.

Very happy with the tension, it was consistent and no shredding!

Tomorrow it will be back to quilting customer quilts. The samples were a nice way to test and adjust tension and not have to pull out any more stitches!

Last week I was only able to finish the one quilt for Pam. This is going to delay each and every quilt in line to be quilted. I have and will do my best to make up some time. Looking forward to some days with cooler temps. With the exception of the quilts on "the list" new quilts that come this month will be scheduled for December. Thank you!
