Scrappy Kaffe!

Three quilts for Cheryl are quilted and ready for trimming. Cheryl loves Kaffe Fassett prints and has been using them for some time. She used lots of her scraps to make these guys...
Wonderful way to make a scrappy Kaffe!
Quilted with a modern geometric design ~ Mid Century by Patricia Ritter. I followed the flow of the triangles to line up to the flow of the circles in the quilting. Lots of circles on the back too. Quilted with two Fantastico variegated threads (love!) Rainbow on the front and a pink to coral variegated on the back, with Quilter's Dream Blend batting.

More printelicious fabrics...

Another fun scrappy quilt Cheryl made with one of Theresa Wright's patterns
Quilted with a new to me pattern with lots of swirl and pearls
Rapunzel is a design by Anne Bright
Quilted with three different Fantastico threads from Superior :0) Fun
and the wonderful backing! Yumm

The third is a great mix of color and fabrics. The deep gold, magenta and dark brown all played well together. I had the perfect Fantastico variegated magenta thread but opted for an Omni thread ~ Vanilla Wafer. There was so much print going on, a dark thread would have only gotten in the way! The gold thread was only quilted in the center field. In the dark brown border I used a light variegated thread, Lava, another thread from Superior. It's a thread they are discontinuing. It takes a larger needle for the 3 ply and a bit of fussing with the tension but it was well worth it! Love my Innova!

Quilting design in the center field is Quill b2b, also from Anne Bright
and a border design ~ Quill with Flower that is part of a set
(there are 4 different borders designed to frame her Quill b2b)

The two fabric backing is folded against the front altho hard to see.
There are allot of prints going on in this beauty!

Thank you Cheryl!

PIQF 2014

Pacific International Quilt Festival starts today! If you plan to attend, be sure to stop by Honey Run Quilter's booth and check out the quilt samples that Esther (Threads on the Floor), Kathy and I longarmed. I would love to go! Kathy is going tomorrow and promised to take pix for us! Also, stop by and say Hi to Jim and Nicky Davis at the Sew So Shop/Innova booth. Too many things going on this week and weekend for me to attend this year.

Just for fun... these are the samples quilted by Jo @ Moonbear Designs for Honey Run Quilters. This first one is the one I recently blogged about that I haven't posted pix of yet, a Christmas quilt made by Ronda and the staff at Honey Run...
some close ups...

This last one is the back.
Quilting design is called Points and Berries
perfect for these prints!
Well done Ronda, Ann, Lorraine, Melony and everyone
at Honey Run Quilters that worked on this one
More pix, these have been previously posted here
Hoping you will have the opportunity to see them in RL at PIQF
Following are quilts made by Theresa Wright...
quilted by Jo at Moonbear Designs and Quilting

This last one is a whole cloth coverlet that Theresa made for her new home. It may have made it's way to the festival, I'm not sure. Got busy this week getting four quilts finished for a new customer from Arizona, visiting here in Chico with the goal of taking her quilts back with her at the end of this week. Almost done!

Have a wonderful week/end
Take the time to take a few stitches!

Mega Churn Dash

This is Theresa's Mega Churn Dash
Isn't it wonderful!

I usually crop my pix like this...
but then you wouldn't see the scale of this 91 x 91 quilt!

Theresa used a cream background
with some great textured paisley print fabric in two colorways.

I added a paisley panto design quilted on my Innova
using a cream thread to add texture to the large background

The back
Theresa used a cotton Chambray and pieced in a little more of the prints
This is the second quilt made from the book Adding Layers from Material Obsession

Theresa also made Super Nova
from the same book, this quilt finishes at 72 x 84
This one is custom quilted, details on this post

Two of the many samples that will be going to
Pacific International with Theresa
Check it out in Honey Run Quilter's vendor booth at the show!

Very happy that my Innova is humming!!!
Enjoy your weekend!

Super Nova made by Theresa

This is Super Nova, one of the quilt projects in a new book by Kathy Doughty of Material Obsession, Adding Layers. A sample quilt made by Theresa Wright at Honey Run Quilters that will be going to Pacific International. Great fabrics! What a great way to use this gorgeous large print... it's Garden by Anna Maria Horner for Free Spirit/Westminster Fibers.

Layers of Sawtooth Stars. Perfect to use the Star quilting design I recently quilted on two customer quilts. In this case I took that design, cut it apart and made several new ones to fit different spaces depending on their size and shape.

Above is the back of the quilt and the star I designed for the large star and the echo stitching in the star points done in all the stars. Below, the stars in the corners.

Great quilt Theresa!
