Batik Star Sampler for Bettie

OK, now I know I am tiered, just posted on the wrong blog so if you see something about Frozen quilts, refer to my quilt blog! That's where I moved the post :0) silly me!

In it's place are pix of a recent customer quilt finished in November ...

This beauty is quilted for Bettie C

Bettie is a new to me customer, definitely not new to quilting! This is one gorgeous well made quilt!!! Loved everything about it. The colors, the batik fabrics, the pattern (a BOM offered at Morning Star Quilts in Paradise CA) Love, love, love!!! 

Quilted with Deep Blue Sea, a nice combination of swirls and pearls
In addition to the e2e, borders and corners were also quilted in the outer borders.

A digital design set from Sweet Dreams Studio

Perfect for this quilt with it's colors and the batik prints!

They were made for each other :0) along with the Marine blue Glide thread

 Perfection!

Quilted with wool batting... love love love!!!

Quilt almost all laid out on my worktable. 

We've had rain, for more than one day... YEA!!!

Good for the earth, not so good for taking pix outdoors

so this is the best shot I can get of this beauty in it's entirety :0) 

 Did I mention... love love love! 

Bettie was pleased as well, that's always the best part!

A little Ketchup

A new month and a good time to post a few of the customer quilts not posted that were quilted in May and June while I was in Ketchup mode :0)

This is a quilt made by Barbara H.

A kit she purchased from Morning Star Quilt Shop in Paradise. I was very happy to see this quilt top as I made the same kit purchsed from Marsha when Morning Star was a vendor at Annie's Star Quilt guilds quilt show. Custom quilted on the Innova. She also brought along this quilt to my studio for quilting...

made from a Kim Diehl pattern which I was also familiar with because I am making one too! We have the same taste in quilts! I spent some time on both of these quilts and they are the very first custom quilts quilted on the Innova. Here are a few close up pix...

Love this quilting design!

I had a hard time taking pix of this one, it was a very bright, sunny and hot day so I laid down a sheet and took photos out in the grass in the shade. Not the best photos, but the best part is that this is one of Rosie's first quilts. I now have a second she made already, waiting to be quilted. She is getting ready to retire and plans to spend some of that time learning to quilt. Well, she has gotten a pretty good start on that! Yea! 

Thank you Rosie, Janet, Janie, Carol, Sandra and Barbara! I appreciate each of you very much! If I have left anyone out, my apologies. Every once in awhile a quilt gets past me without a photo or a customer did not give written permission on my work order to post their name and/or quilt on the internet.

It is so nice to be caught up from the back log. Not a fun situation, especially in the summer time! Recently finished two for Judy J and a class sample for Honey Run Quilters that Goldie will be teaching in September, it's still on my longarm and will be posted... stay tuned! Today it was cloudy all day. Lots of rain up in the mountains, a good thing with the fires but not so good with mudslides in SoCal... in August! Very weird weather! 

Stay safe and cool and take a few stitches whenever possible!

This week is hot!!! Quit early today, it's just too hot. I am working on a custom quilt for Joanne, burying all the thread ends. It's just too hot when a needle slips thru your fingers plus it's not good for the computer so I shut it down early.

Checked in 4 more quilts this week, 3 today. When Leslie picked up her quilt today she brought a gorgeous quilt made with fabrics from Honey Run Quilters with one of Theresa's patterns, Starlight, the same pattern as the last sample I quilted here. Met with a new customer this morning at HRQ that brought in a charm quilt she has been working on for many years. All hand pieced in a block she called Baseball. I know it as Apple Core. Wonderful vintage fabrics and again, the real deal! Frances brought in a really cute quilt she made for her grandson that will be custom quilted, a kit from Morning Star. Stay tuned. With a new customer coming in tomorrow morning with a quilt for custom quilting, October is closed. New quilts coming in will be set up for November!

We had close to 300 quilts displayed. Check out all 4 of the posts of the show to see but a few of them. Many were hard to photograph because of the lighting. I had fun with a team of members that set up and took down the quilts for the show.

A quilt I exhibited in the show. Black, White and Red All Around is the quilt I made from black and white fabric charms I swapped with members of Alex Anderson's AAQMB in 2003. Hope you have too. Wish there was a way to take better photos to show off machine quilting as well as the quilts themselves. As I work on improving my machine quilting skills and photography, I really appreciate how many talented quilters we have here in the Chico, Paradise and Oroville area.
